LITA is 50!

In 1966, ALA Council approved the creation of the Information Science and Automation Division (ISAD). The name changed in 1978 to the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA).

Starting with ALA Annual Conference 2016 and ending at ALA Annual Conference 2017, LITA is going to celebrate fifty years of service to its members. We are going to do this in a variety of ways including through special events, looking back at LITA histories, checking in on past presidents, and so much more.

The http://lita50.org/ website will document the celebration. Check back often to see historical features, find upcoming 50th Anniversary events, test your knowledge of LITA history through a series of quizzes, etc.
